DeLand, FL – The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office is stepping up its patrols to catch motorists who drive impaired.
The law enforcement agency will begin a new series of high visibility saturation patrols starting on Sunday that will extend into 2016.
VCSO spokesman Gary Davidson says it’s part of an effort to improve road safety and reduce the number of deaths and injuries.
“The operation will include a high visibility concentration of Sheriff’s motors and traffic units who will be targeting traffic trouble spots throughout the county,” Davidson added.
VCSO did not release specifics as to where these units will be focused.
These DUI enforcement patrols are supported by a Florida Department of Transportation grant.
