Deltona, FL-Deputies are investigating two apparently unrelated armed holdups in Deltona Thursday evening. In the first crime, a white male with a handgun held up the Subway store at the Doyle Road intersection with Providence Boulevard. That crime happened just before 5 PM when deputies say the suspect ordered an employee to open a cash register and then reached over to grab money. He was last seen walking toward Providence where deputies think he had a getaway vehicle waiting. A search with the Sheriff’s helicopter and K-9 units turned up nothing.
The suspect is between the ages of 25 and 35 and was wearing jeans, a black hat and a dark shirt with “HURLEY” across the chest.
In the second crime, a Hispanic male entered the Walgreens on Providence Boulevard around 4 miles north of the previous incident around 7:20 PM. He got away with medicine. He’s described as having a beard and mustache. He was wearing grey, cut-off sweat pants and a light-colored shirt. He had distinctive tattoos on both arms.
No shots fired in either crime.
