Daytona Beach, FL – 2 men are dead and another is in the hospital following a shooting at a Daytona Beach nightclub.
The Daytona Beach Police Department says it happened around 2:30 AM Thursday near the Biarritz on the 300 block of Pearl Street. That’s just east of the Bethune-Cookman University campus off of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard.
DBPD Sergeant James Chirco says officers were sent to the scene after a call for help indicated 3 people were shot near the club.
“Police units arrived on scene and investigation revealed there were 3 victims of apparent gunshot wounds,” Chirco added. “1 white male was pronounced deceased at the scene and 1 black male was transported to Halifax Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.”
The 3rd man – described by DBPD as black – also went to Halifax for treatment.
Chirco says the names of the victims aren’t being released at this point and no suspects are known at this time.
“The specifics of the incident are still unfolding,” Chirco added. “There are no cooperative witnesses at this point in the investigation.”
