Daytona Beach, FL – An online financial technology company says Daytona Beach is one of the best American beach towns to live in for your wallet.
A SmartAsset.com list released on Tuesday has Daytona Beach ranked #6 in the list of America’s Most Affordable Beach Towns.
SmartAsset has Daytona Beach as the 2nd most affordable beach town in Florida, trailing only Pensacola and just ahead of 3 other Florida cities: Fort Walton Beach, Fort Pierce and Melbourne.
Nick Wallace – a data editor at SmartAsset – says the biggest reason Daytona Beach made the list was property values, especially compared to other coastal cities.
“According to the United States Census Bureau, the median home value in Daytona Beach is just $113,000,” Wallace added. “That is well below the national average of $175,700.”
Other factors include the median amount of property taxes, rooms available per house and annual housing costs.
Ormond Beach came in at #9 for Florida cities in that same list and #20 overall. The #1 spot went to Gulfport, MS.
