Deltona, FL – A man accused of exposing himself to numerous teenage girls and women in at least 8 separate incidents in the Deltona area this year is going to prison.

Jonathan Owens of Deltona entered a no contest plea on various charges – including exposure of sexual organs and lewd or lascivious conduct – in Volusia County court on Thursday and was sentenced to 3 years behind bars.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office says Owens was the serial flasher going around Deltona from February until his arrest just before the 4th of July.

Owens committed these crimes while on probation for exposing himself to 3 teenage girls while driving a sport utility vehicle in Deltona over 2 years ago, according to VCSO spokesman Andrew Gant.

The 23-year-old entered no contest to 2 counts of aggravated stalking in that incident and was sentenced to 5 years of probation in January 2014.

Owens was arrested on July 1st at his home on Matthew Circle after a 38-year-old Deltona woman told deputies she saw a man driving a blue Dodge Ram expose himself to her while driving slowly past her house.

The victim’s husband told deputies that he saw the Ram parked in front of a home a few minutes later while searching the neighborhood and confronted the driver as he walked down the street.

The home where the victim’s husband spotted the Dodge Ram is where Owens lives and it’s also where another victim told VCSO to look for a flasher earlier in the day, according to Gant.

VCSO says the victims are between 15 and 50 years old and that Owens usually approached his victims naked either at their homes or walking down the street.

In one case, he allegedly exposed himself to a 15-year-old jumping on a trampoline in a backyard and in another, to a 50-year-old jogger as he sat on a bus bench, according to investigators.

Owens will be labeled a sex offender after he’s released, according to Spencer Hathaway, a spokesman for the office of 7th Circuit State Attorney RJ Larizza.
