Holly Hill, FL- Police in Holly Hill say a woman allegedly shot by her husband Sunday in a domestic dispute died Tuesday night. Charges against the husband are expected to be upgraded to homicide.
Police went to the home at 241 15th Street Sunday night around 8:30 PM after a report of a shooting. 42-year-old Anibal Muniz was in the front yard with his hands up.
Inside the home, police found his wife, 47-year-old Jeanette Ramos, with two gunshot wounds. She was transported to Halifax Hospital for treatment. She died Tuesday night.
Muniz is in custody. He’s held without bond at Volusia County Jail.
Two children in the home at the time were not hurt.
In a 911 call released by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office on Monday, Muniz claims he and his wife were arguing about him cheating on her and that she was the one who went for the gun first.
Muniz also claimed that they got into a physical fight and that the gun went off 2 times during the struggle.
