Holly Hill, FL – Police are investigating after a woman was hit and killed in Holly Hill.
The Holly Hill Police Department says it happened just before 6pm Friday at the intersection of 2nd Street and Ridgewood Avenue.
HHPD Chief Steve Aldrich says the woman was apparently trying to cross Ridgewood Avenue when she was hit.
“The victim was transported to Halifax Health Medical Center as a trauma alert,” Aldrich said. “She has since [been] pronounced deceased.”
Parts of the intersection were closed for hours afterward as officers processed the scene.
HHPD hasn’t released the name of the victim or her age pending next-of-kin notification.
The driver’s identity hasn’t been released at this time, either.
