Daytona Beach, FL – A building at Daytona State College was briefly evacuated because of a bomb threat scribbled onto the wall of a bathroom.
The Daytona Beach Police Department was dispatched to the campus on West International Speedway Boulevard around 2:45 PM Wednesday after the threat was discovered by DSC security.
Building 330 – also known as the Arts & Sciences Building – was evacuated because of that message on the first floor of the men’s bathroom, which read “ISIS will win” and “BOMB”, according to the DBPD incident report.
An alert sent out by the school within minutes of the message being discovered said the bomb threat was “nonspecific” in nature.
No bomb was found during a complete building search that utilized bomb-sniffing dogs from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.
Building 330 is the only building that was evacuated, per school officials.
Campus activity resumed as normal once the all-clear was sounded.
An agent with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement was notified, per DBPD.
DSC will be closed Thursday and Friday as scheduled for the Thanksgiving holiday.
