Port Orange, FL – Port Orange’s new police chief is now official.
The city held a swearing-in ceremony Tuesday morning for Thomas Grimaldi at Port Orange Police Department headquarters on Clyde Morris Boulevard.
PO City Manager Jake Johansson gave the oath of office.
Grimaldi started work this week after he was hired to replace the retiring Gerry Monahan.
Monahan’s final day was on Monday, wrapping up a 16-year career with the department.
Grimaldi – who will make just under $120,000 a year in his new job – spent the last 26 years in Connecticut with the Bristol Police Department, including the last 3 years as its chief.
