Daytona Beach, FL -Update: Deputies in Polk County have taken an escaped prisoner from Daytona Beach into custody.

Police in Daytona Beach are looking for a handcuffed man who escaped custody Monday evening after asking to use the restroom. 37-year-old Theodrick Cooper was in custody for a warrant for charges including driving without a license and giving officers a false name. Police say he ran after he was escorted to the restroom by a police officer at the Beachside Precinct on Harvey Avenue.
Police had Cooper in custody trying to determine his connection to an investigation into a stolen vehicle recovered on Grandview Avenue. He gave a false name when questioned. He was identified by a fingerprint scan.
