VCSO Finds Missing DeLand Teen Safe In Lake Helen

UPDATE (12-29-15): VCSO spokesman Andrew Gant says Rowland was found around 9:45 AM by Lake Helen police near Ohio Avenue and Daycare Drive after a bystander recognized him and called to report it.

“Nicholas was in good condition and said he’s just been walking and riding around with friends,” Gant added. “Thanks to all who helped us spread the word and reunite Nicholas with his concerned family.”

DeLand, FL - The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a missing teenager who left his DeLand home after an argument with family.

Nicholas Rowland was last seen around 5:30 P-M Monday leaving his home on the 1000 block of South Spring Garden Avenue.

VCSO spokesman Andrew Gant says Nicholas is a white male with brown hair and green eyes who’s about 6 feet tall and 165 pounds.

“When he left home, he was wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt, black cowboy hat and tennis shoes,” Gant added.
