Daytona Beach, FL – A substitute teacher is escorted from the classroom after she reportedly told a group of students that she would have someone shoot them if they misbehaved.

An incident report was filed with the Daytona Beach Police Department after an officer was called out to Turie T. Small Elementary School around 8:45 AM Friday.

According to that report, an assistant principal at the school on 800 South Street told officers that administrators were first made aware of the incident the day before.

The 37-year-old regular teacher of that classroom claims she found out about the remarks allegedly made by the 61-year-old substitute teacher from her students after she came back.

Those students claim that the teacher – a New Smyrna Beach resident – said it was known that some people would “come to the school with an AK-47 and shoot the kids” if they were disrespectful to the teacher and didn’t listen, according to the report.

The teacher also said she had a key to the classroom and would let those people in to shoot the kids “between the eyes”, per the report.

The assistant principal told DBPD he made contact with the substitute teacher immediately, told her that she would no longer be used as a substitute and had her escorted from campus before informing the school district of the situation.

The report didn’t specify the grade level of the classroom.

No charges have been filed at this time by DBPD.
